about
Well, this one's clearly ridiculous, right? Room on my trolley for two? Perhaps so. However, there's a story behind it. In a carpark one night, Hayley and I waited to be picked up. It was deserted, and I was sitting on an overturned trolley. She was standing there, and so I offered her a place, but I did so as if we were part of a musical right there, and "there's room on my trolley for two" became one of her favourite quotes from then on. The chorus lyrics are actual words I had said to her, and so the song is a funny take on a sweet moment of our life. I don't expect you to understand... but I hope you can at least enjoy the song!
Note: this is just a demo. I have a new version ready to go for my next album. It's way better and I'm totally excited, but for now this is the only taste you have ;)
lyrics
All alone in a carpark at night
Sitting still on a trolley by streetlight
And lonely again
I watch the cars going by
Suddenly, she appears next to me
Though I'm startled, I smile politely
And talking to pretty girls is hard
But I'll try
So I say
Hey, you're real pretty
And it'd be a pity
To not sit here with you
'Cause there's room on my trolley for two
When she moves, it's only with grace
When she smiles, well, I'm stunned by her face
And when she sits at my side
I know I've been blessed
And though a trolley's not worthy of you
Rest assured, it's the best I can do
Just to share what I have with you now
I'm doing my best
